Yukari Manabe is the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health Associate Director of Global Health Research and Innovation and a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with joint appointments in International Health, Molecular Microbiology and Immunology in the Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Makerere University College of Health Sciences in Kampala, Uganda. Her research interests are focused on accuracy testing of various rapid, point-of-care diagnostics for HIV and related infectious diseases of clinical importance in SSA, particularly frugal point-of-care innovation. She is also interested in studying the impact of various diagnostic interventions on disease detection and patient outcomes.
