All authors of accepted papers must register for the conference by the registration date specific to their final submission and must also attend/present at the meeting. Please check the discounted hotel room rates on the Accommodations Page of the website. Please ensure you have submitted the Visa application if required. Registration payment must be made before the Visa letter is downloaded.

Authors:  All authors need to have PINs. You can confirm your PIN or get a new Pin from

  1. Press the link “Register for HI-POCT’16” on the right side of the page, and log in with PIN number and password
  2. Press the link “Connect to the Registration system”.
  3. Enter your info and specify Registration Type as Author. And proceed from there.
  4. After following instructions, you will reach a page to indicate the number of papers you submit. Confirm the info and proceed. Please enter your Credit Card info and finish payment.

Notifications and Policies


General attendees (non‐authors) are eligible for a registration refund if the refund is requested prior to October 9, 2016 and will incur a processing fee of US$50. There are no registration refunds after October 9, 2016.

Authors who have uploaded their FINAL papers are NOT entitled to any refunds.


Attendance at, or participation in, this conference constitutes consent to the use and distribution by IEEE of the attendee’s image or voice for informational, publicity, promotional and/or reporting purposes in print or electronic communications media. No flash photography will be used. Video recording by participants and other attendees during any portion of the conference is not allowed without special prior written permission of IEEE. Photographs of copyrighted PowerPoint or other slides are for personal use only and are not to be reproduced or distributed.

Do not photograph any such images that are labeled as confidential and/or proprietary.

Author no show policy: EMBS enforces a “no show” policy. Any accepted paper included in the final program is expected to have at least one author attend and present the paper at the conference. Authors of the accepted papers included in the final program who do not attend the Conference will be subscribed to a “No Show List”, compiled by the Society. The “no-show” papers will be removed from the website and noted as “Author unavailable for presentation.” The “No Show List” will also be made available to all EMBS conference organizers, who can reject submissions from these authors in the following two years, based on their past negative impact on the conference.

The substitution form must be completed and submitted by the corresponding author of any paper that has been included in the HI-POCT’16 program if the corresponding author or any co-authors are no longer able to attend and present the paper in the conference.

Cancellations must be made in writing by downloading the no-show form on the website and sending it by email to (no phone calls will be accepted). There are no refunds allowed for authors who uploaded their final paper. Registration fees cannot be transferred to another attendee.

IEEE Membership is limited to those who have satisfied IEEE-specified educational requirements and/or who have demonstrated professional competence in IEEE-designated fields of interest. There are numerous membership levels available within IEEE.

Grades of Membership

Society Affiliate Member

A Society Affiliate is a member of an IEEE Society. Society Affiliates are not IEEE members and are not entitled to any IEEE benefits or services that are reserved solely for IEEE members. All affiliate benefits and services come directly from the individual IEEE Society offering affiliation.

Associate Member

The Associate Member grade is designed for technical and non-technical individuals who do not meet the qualifications for Member grade, but who wish to benefit from membership and partnership in IEEE, and for those who are progressing, through continuing education and work experience, towards qualifications for Member grade.


Member grade is limited to those who have satisfied IEEE-specified educational requirements and/or who have demonstrated professional competence in IEEE-designated fields of interest.

Senior Member

Senior Member is the highest grade for which application may be made and requires experience reflecting professional maturity. For admission or transfer to the grade of Senior Member, a candidate shall be an engineer, scientist, educator, technical executive, or originator in IEEE-designated fields.


The grade of Fellow recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and is conferred only by invitation of the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of IEEE’s designated fields of interest.

Life Member

Designation as a Life Member is applicable only to a member who has reached the age of 65 years and who has been a member of IEEE (or one of its predecessor societies) for such a period that the sum of his/her age and his/her years of membership equals or exceeds 100 years.
