Breakout Sessions

Four breakout session are scheduled on the second day of the conference, November 7, 2017 to brainstorm critical issues in the translation of technology innovations in healthcare applications. The breakout sessions will provide a forum for open discussion of the fundamental issues and challenges, including strategic planning steps to address these challenges. Data gathered during these breakout sessions from participants will be included in the Strategic Planning Panel Discussion on the final day of the conference. The four breakout sessions that participants can submit their questions/issues in advance during the registration process and conference are:

  1. Internal and External Resources for Translation
    Explore funding, infrastructure, human and other resources currently available, and which need to be developed in the future, to accelerate translation
  1. Clinical Translational Challenges
    Explore the most important clinical challenges of the day that can be effectively addressed with technology, particularly POCT
  1. Technology Translation and Regulatory Issues
    Explore efficient pathways to translation including compliance with regulatory bodies both national and international
  1. Validation, Standards and Security
    Explore interoperability standards for POCT, ensuring smooth operation with legacy systems while addressing emerging issues of cybersecurity
